Description:
North Carolina is home to 96,000 military children, so many North Carolina families are being affected by the deployment of their loved ones serving overseas. Military children of service members in North Carolina can build support networks with youth like themselves, engage in physical activities, and learn life skills through activities offered by community partnerships that are a part of North Carolina 4-H’s Operation: Military Kids program.

Providing services to families in their local communities is crucial. Deployments are at a record high, and regardless of whether military youth are from active or reserve families, Operation: Military Kids can provide families with opportunities and resources.
Operation: Military Kids is the U.S. Army's collaborative effort with America's communities to support the children and youth impacted by deployment. In North Carolina, this initiative is carried out by 4-H, North Carolina Cooperative Extension’s youth development program.
