The 82nd Airborne Division Wounded Warrior Committee was started in September 2007 by 82nd Airborne Division Spouses. The Division Ladies have been able to provide special items to our wounded Paratroopers as a gesture of our gratitude and on-going love and support. These items include: Break-away pants (helpful for soldiers with leg injuries), full-zip fleece jackets, Unit T-shirts and shorts (to promote and continue unit pride), micro-bead pillows, "thank you" notes and holiday greeting cards.
We are honored to provide these items to hospitalized Paratroopers at Walter Reed, Brooke and Womack Army Medical Centers. Our Paratroopers have answered our Country's call to duty. They are doing amazing things in the name of freedom. They have knowingly put themselves in harm's way to protect us all and offering these items is the least we can do as a show of thanks for their service and sacrifice.
The 82nd Airborne Division Wounded Warrior Committee is currently composed of Army Spouses and Surviving Spouses. We all have a vested interest in doing the right thing for our Wounded Heroes. They will not be forgotten.
