Personal and Family Readiness
Provides printed information, education, and individual assistance during all phases of deployments. The program includes:
•Hearts Apart Support Group for spouses
•Phoenix Spouse Program
•Reunion Information
•Car Care Because We Care
•Morale Calls
Air Force Aid Society
Provides emergency financial assistance to Air Force members, both active duty and retired and their dependents through interest-free loans or grants. Emergency assistance can include:
•Rent
•Food
•Utility bills
•Emergency travel due to death in the family, funeral expenses,
•Car repairs
•Medical/dental expenses.
•Loans and grants for education.
Food Closet
Food items, dry/canned goods and meat products, provided to families who are unable to obtain food due to lack of funds or an unforeseen emergency.
A&FRC Programs
Information and Referral
Provides assistance to the Pope community to locate agencies for requested services on base or in the local community to meet health, social or psychological needs.
Career Focus
Helps to enhance the marketability and employability of spouses and active duty members through individual counseling and classes including:
•Resume and Interview Workshop
•Job Search
•10 Steps to Federal Employment
•Small Business Seminar
Volunteer Resource
Provides training opportunities for volunteers and volunteer administrators and coordinates the yearly base wide recognition program. Opportunities include:
•Family Services
•Pope Pharmacy
•American Red Cross
•Pope Elementary
•And More!
Personal Financial Management
Offers information, education and counseling on a variety of financial topics, Classes include:
•Getting Out of Debt
•Budgeting 101
•Investments Basic and Advanced
•Moving Out of the Dorms
Financial Briefing
Relocation Assistance
Information and assistance to military personnel and their families who are involved in or anticipating a permanent change of station (PCS) move or separation/retirement. Services include
•Pre- and post-move counseling,
•Smooth Move seminar
•Referrals to online resources with current information on military installations worldwide.
•Welcome Spouse
Transition Assistance
Provides separating or retiring members and their families the skills and knowledge required to make a successful transition to a second career or retirement. Services include:
•Pre-separation counseling
•Three day TAP workshop
•Resource Center to assist with resume preparation, books, videos and pamphlets.
•Computers with internet
Family Life Education
Enhances the well-being of families and strengthens their adaptation to the unique demands of Air Force life. Services include:
•“Parenting Through Love and Logic”
•Heart Link (an orientation for new AF spouses).
